About Perranporth AFC

Perranporth AFC is situated on the edge of the town just off the Newquay road in the Ponsmere Valley. We are a friendly club and we always try to make all officials, supporters and visitors feel welcome. At our clubhouse you can watch live football on our big widescreen television and there are a range drinks and snacks at the bar. On match days the bar is open so you can enjoy a drink and something to eat while watching one of our home games. In the evenings on match days the clubhouse usually remains open for the live football on Sky or Setanta. We also remain open if there are events planned, for example we may have a karaoke or quiz night. The clubhouse is also open on every Friday evening and if there’s live football on Sky or Setanta on any other day during the week we may open for that as well. On the football side we have three adult teams, the 1st team who play in the Carlsberg South-West Peninsula League Division 1 West under the joint management of Ian Gosling and Steve Rowson, the Reserves play in the Whirlwind Sports Falmouth/Helston League Division 2 under the management of Mick Lane and the 3rd team play in the One and All Sports Mining League Division 3 under the management of Ed Ansell. Last season was the most successful in the Clubs history with all three teams winning silverware, the 1st team won the Jollys Cornwall Combination League title, the Jollys Cornwall Combination League Cup and the Evely Memorial Cup. The Reserves, who were the Combination players from the 2007/2008 season had to play in the Bodmin Trophies Duchy League 5th Division due to registration rules which meant they couldn't play in the Falmouth/Helston League and they stuck together to win the the league title and the 3rd team, who originally were going to play in the Duchy League had to switch to the Falmouth/Helston League and after a difficult start they finished strong and won the Whirlwind Sports Falmouth/Helston League Division 2 Cup. Next season the Reserves will be able to switch back to the Whirlwind Sports Falmouth/Helston League, however the 3rd team will be playing in the One and All Sports Mining League instead of the Bodmin Trophies Duchy League. We have two youth teams, the under 10's and the under 11's, and they play in league's of their respective age groups, the under 10's are managed by Colin Petifer and the under 11's are managed by Justin Wilden.
