Hayle Reserves - 1 - 7 - Perranporth
- Jollys Cornwall Combination League

Early title favourites Perranporth continued their strong start to the season with this suprisingly emphatic win at Trevassick Park. “It has been a very good start, with two wins and seven points,” said Perranporth’s assistant manager Steve Brown. “It was a good performance and we could have had more goals.” The visitors led 3 - 1 at the break, with some of their new signings featuring on the score sheet, with Kayne Trevaskis, from Helston, finishing with a hat-trick. Steve ‘Rusty’ Rowson, joint manager with Ian Gosling, both from Truro, had a pair and the other winning scorers were Justin Andrew (from St. Agnes) and finally Elliott Brown, son of the assistant manager. Home keeper Phil Dustow made several top-draw saves and Hayle’s joint team manager Kevin Toms, who is running the side with Lee Patchett this season, said his side matched their fine opponents at many stages of the game. It was their second defeat of the season, with their single goal coming from an attack down the right. Andy Withers sold a defender with a dummy and Simon Bevis shot past the keeper. Wayne Rouffignac was always strong in the centre of the field and Sully Gardner was a powerful influence on the left flank.

Perranporth - 7 - 0 - Falmouth Town Reserves
- Jollys Cornwall Combination League

Another great performance saw the winners leap to top place in the table, score another seven goals and take their total from three matches to 23. High-scoring Kayne Trevaskis notched a hat-trick in a display that delighted joint managers and scorers Steve 'Rusty' Rowson and Ian Gosling. "After the interval we stepped it up and even then missed chances", said Rowson. "We came out with all guns blazing and had quick-fire goals. All of them came from team moves with six or seven passes and good finishing." "We put in another good performance, the players are enjoying it, the pitch is in good shape as are the facilities and the club has put in a lot of work." The home side had only a single goal lead at the break, but hammered in six in the second half. Meanwhile, Falmouth manager Bryn Wheeler, who is himself recovering from injury, said five players had left the club during the week. "I was pleased with the work-rate and performance of those you came up into the team. They did all I asked of them. "Perranporth's side could make the Peninsular competition and I expect them to take the championship." Apart from Kayne Trevaskis (3), Rowson - the opener from the penalty spot and Gosling, Perranporth's goals came from a Justin Andrew volley and an own goal by Paul Wolstencroft. Falmouth's best efforts came when Steve Kellow and Charlie Andrew each hit a post.
