Hayle - 0 - 5 - Perranporth
- Westinsure Senior Cup 2nd Round

Combination league leaders Perranporth romped into the third round at Trevassick Park on Saturday with an impressive victory over a team they will hope to be playing in the SWPL Division One West next season. And there was no doubting their credentials to step up into the higher league as they out played the home side from start to finish of a one sided encounter. It left joint manager Rusty Rowson "ecstatic" over his sides performance. "The guys were faster, quicker, stronger and won all the second balls," he enthused after the game. "We could have won by even more and I'm just so proud of them." Meanwhile his opposite number at Hayle, Colin Quinn, was left dejected by the result. "We were shocking today, though we were carrying a few injuries," he said. "But we have no complaints and don't want to make any excuses, we were well beaten by a good side." The visitors announced their intention as early as the second minute when Alex Arquati's persistence swept Perranporth into an early lead. The Perran striker chased and won Dean Harris' through ball before firing past home keeper Ian Chatfield from an acute angle. Twenty minutes later Luke Brown fed Arquati and his cross from the left flank was clinically finished off by Harris, who scored in his ninth successive game. The home side briefly lifted themselves and Paul Quinn rattled the visitors' bar with a fierce shot from brother Wayne's cross. Bu at the other end Kayne Trevaskis headed just wide and Justin Miles twice went close before the pair combined for Bryan Hawke to put Perran three up after 38 minutes with a superb volley into the top left corner. Playing up the hill in the second half made no difference to the visitors who extended their lead still further on 52 mintutes when Trevaskis held off two defenders as he ran on to Miles' through ball before slotting the ball past the advancing Chatfield. Harris, Trevaskis and Justin Miles all went close as Perran continued to dominate proceedings. It came as no surprise whe they added a fifth goal two minutes from time when substitute Simon Jones marked is senior debut with a shot that gave Chatfield no chance and sealed a memorable victory for his side.
