Ludgvan - 0 - 13 - Perranporth - Jollys Cornwall Combination League
Unbeaten Perranporth opened up a 12 point lead at the top of the table as they demolished bottom club Ludgvan with a performance that merely emphasised the difference in class between the two sides at Fairfield on Saturday. After the game Hurlers' boss Matt Spencer handed in his resignation, along with his assistant Martin Kempen, after just nine games in charge in which he has been unable to transform the club's fortunes. It was one way traffic right from the start as the visitors opened up a five-goal lead by half-time. And it could have been more but for several fines saves from Spencer himself, who played the first half in the home goal. Justin Andrew got the ball rolling, with Bryan Hawke, Kayne Trevaskis, Ian Gosling and Dean Harris on target in a one-sided first half. The massacreg gathered pace after the break, though Wayne Wager, who took over in goal for the second half, also produced a string of good saves. But there was nothing he could do to stop the goal feast as Harris helped himself to three more to take his tally to four, while Trevaskis also added two more to complete his hat-trick. Hawke and Gosling each notched second goals before substitute Alex Arquati completed the baker's dozen.

Perranporth - 4 - 0 - Newquay - Westinsure Senior Cup 3rd Round
Perranporth stormed into the quarter-finals of the Westinsure Cornwall Senior Cup with a 4-0 victory over north coast rivals Newquay at Ponsmere Valley. The Jolly's Combination League leaders were superior in virtually every department to the visitors, who play one league higher in Division One South West of the Carlsberg SWPL. Perran should have gone ahead after 24 minutes when they were awarded a penalty for handball but Rusty Rowson saw his spot-kick well saved by Newquay keeper Matt Armstrong-Ford. But they took a deserved lead on the hour when Bryan Hawke's low drive gave Armstrong-Ford no chance. Newquay tried to come back, but Perran keeper Andy Butcher did not have to make a serious save throughout and it was no surprise when Alex Arquati combined well with substitute Justin Andrew to make it 2-0 after 81 minutes. With three minutes left substitute Rob Stapleton's cool finish from Ian Gosling's through ball made it 3-0 and right on time Hawke's second completed the rout as he ran clear to score.
