1st Team suffer St. Austell defeat

Saturday afternoon saw Perranporth welcome fellow championship challegers St. Austell to Ponsmere Valley. Chris Phillips gave St. Austell the lead after about 30 minutes after being setup by Dan Nancarrow, St. Austell then found themselves 2 - 0 up after Dan Giles finished from Neil Stateford's cross. In the second half Perranporth came out detemined to get back into the game and were rewarded when a surprise error by St. Austell keeper Gary Penhaligon enabled new Perranporth signing Danny Ford to pull a goal back. Perranporth then kept up the pressure and they thought they had got their equiliser but the goal was ruled out for a foul on the keeper, and St. Austell held on to claim a 2 - 1 victory. Perranporth will see this as a set back in their challenge for the championship, though they still have games in hand on the three teams above them and they still have to play St. Austell at Poltair Park on Saturday 27th March 2010. Perranporth's next game is against Truro City Reserves on Saturday 13th March 2010 at Ponsmere Valley, kick off will be at 3.00pm.


Reserves claim victory over St. Day Reserves

Saturday saw Perranporth make the trip to St. Day in a bid to continue their charge to the league championship. Perranporth came away with a 4 - 2 victory thanks to a Barry Leete hat-trick, who is now restored as the Reserves' top goalscorer in all competitions, with 19 goals. Jamie Cox added the other goal, who now has 8 goals for the season, in all competitions and has scored in his last three games.


3rd Team win against struggling Marazion Blues


Saturday saw Perranporth make the trip to West Cornwall for the third time in 3 weeks to play Marazion Blues. After losing to Gulval on two occasions in the last two weeks they would have been determined to claim victory over their struggling opponants and they were not disappointed as they won 6 - 0, with two goals each from Rob Brandreth and Danny Penna and one each from Dan Lord and Sonny Mather.


Under 11's claim win against Newquay AFC Ninjas


On a sunny Sunday morning at Ponsmere Valley Perranporth faced local rival Newquay AFC Ninjas. Perranporth put in a good performance and claimed a 1 - 0 victory, their goal came from Alex 'AJ' Cant.


Under 10's draw at home to Leedstown Tigers


On Sunday afternoon Perranporth welcomed Leedstown Tigers to Ponsmere Valley. Perranporth raced to a 2 - 0 lead after goals from Ruban Mellor-Clark and John Moises, only for Leedstown Tigers to pull it back to 2 - 2 and that's how it finished, and that was probably a fair result.
