1st Team back to winning ways

Perranporth welcomed Truro City Reserves to Ponsmere Valley on Saturday afternoon looking to get back to winning ways after last weeks defeat to St. Austell. Perranporth took the lead early in the first half when Joe McQuade found the back of the net against his former club. Truro were given an opportunity to get back on level terms after Referee Alan Hoon adjudged a push in the penalty box, striker Tom Ball stepped up and smashed the ball past Danny Burrows. Just before half time left back Ben Goldring found himself in Truro's penalty box and restored Perranporth's lead. In the second half seemed to take control against a young Truro side, restricting them to very few attacks meaning Danny Burrows didn't have much to do in the Perranporth goal. Mikey Davies scrambled the ball over the line to make it 3 - 1, Joe Mcquade added his second and Perranporth's fourth with a curled effort, Perranporth then went 5 - 1 up from a header from veteran Steve 'Rusty' Rowson and Truro's misery was completed when their former player Joe Mcquade competed his hat-trick from the spot.

Perranporth are back in action on Saturday 20th March 2010 up at Callington's Ginsters Marshfield Parc, kick off is at 3.00pm.

3rd Team unlucky in draw with runaway leaders

Perranporth made the trip over to their temporary home at Malpas Park in Truro on Saturday afternoon to play runaway leaders Praze-An-Beeble. Perranporth went in front against the soon to be champions from a penalty, which was taken by Goalkeeper Mark Barkle. Perranporth appeared to be heading to a superb victory, but for some reason six minutes was added on at the end and in the 96th minute Praze-An-Beeble were awarded a penalty, which from what I heard was a bit harsh. Praze dispatched the penalty and the game ended 1 - 1.
